Things to do - Walking, Cycling, Horse riding, Bird watching, fishing, climbing and painting.

Situ
ated on The Dalesway and The Inn Way, Littlebeck is perfectly placed as either a stop over, if you are tackling a long distant walk, or as a base for day walking. Step out of Littlebeck’s door and the choice is yours - No climbing but for the occasional stile,  or lots of challenging ascent over the nearby fells;  A one mile circular stroll or any number of circular walks up to twenty miles.

Whether a road cyclist, mountain biker or both, the challenges are limitless. The relatively gentle  seven miles cycle, by road, south to Grassington via Conistone is on a designated cycle route. Alternatively the more lion hearted might wish to tackle the endless 1:4 ‘lung busting’ climb up Park Rash. For the mountain biker the fells beckon. Numerous permitted bridleways take the mountain biker over some of the most arduous terrain in the country. The loose gravelly climb up Cam Fell or the relentless, muddy and rutted climb up the famous Mastiles Lane will challenge the most spirited of mountain biker.

Kilnsey Crag is one of Yorkshire's 'Big Three' limestone crags (the other two being Gordale and Malham). The climbing is characterised by steep moves on flat holds. It offers a mix of sport and some very good trad lines.

The wealth of bird life makes The Yorkshire Dales National Park  a perfect place for the keen bird watcher. Long Tailed Tits and The Greater Spotted Woodpecker are regular visitors to Littlebeck’s garden. Watch Peregrine Falcons nesting on Malham Cove.
